Sitting Pretty

This tut was written in PSP X3 but can be done in other versions with minor modifications. I used the art of Angie Monasterio. You must have a license to use her work. I purchased this tube from CILM before it closed but you can now find her artwork at UpYourArt.

Supplies:

A nice fat font. I used Haulnhouse Solid
A sitting or laying tube
Coconut Ice preset Here
Animation Shop

Save the preset files in the environments and textures folder in your SBP folder in plugins if you don't already have this preset.

Open your tube, shift D to make a duplicate and close the original. Set aside for now. Open a new transparent workspace 600 x 500. Flood fill with white. Select your font, I used size 100 on mine but you might want it bigger or smaller depending on your font and name. Select your foreground and background colors from your tube. Click about a 3rd of the way down on your workspace and type your name, you may or may not want to use all caps, it depends on the font. Make any adjustments and click apply. Go up to Objects, Align, and click on horizontal center in canvas. Convert to raster.

Copy your tube and paste as new layer on your canvas. Resize if necessary, resize all layers unchecked. Align up so it looks like it's sitting or laying on your name.

Hide your tube layer for now and click on the layer with your name. Click on your magic wand, mode set to add, tolerance and feather to 0. Click inside each letter.

Go to Effects, Plugins, Flaming Pear, Super Blade Pro. If you've never used SBP before click on the icon that looks like an arrow pointing away from a CD. This is the load icon. Navigate to the environments and texture folder and find the m_coconutice preset, click open, then click ok.

Your name will now look something like this. Do NOT deselect.

Now duplicate this layer twice for a total of 3 layers of your name. Rename them from the bottom as name 1, name 2 and name 3. Click on the name 1 layer. Go to Adjust, Add/Remove Noise, Add noise. Click on Gaussian, 35% and Monochrome checked. Click ok. Now click on name 2 and repeat but change to 40%. Repeat with name 3 with 45%. Press ctrl D to deselect.

Add a drop shadow with the settings of 2, 2, 50, 12, shadow on new layer checked. Unhide your tube layer, and give it a drop shadow with same settings except make the vertical -2 and uncheck the box to put on the shadow on new layer.

Add your copyright info and watermark. Crop off excess space around the tag. Remember when you're cropping to ALWAYS leave space around your tag so you're not cutting off parts of the tube or drop shadows. Hide name 2 and name 3 layers in your layer palette. Edit, Copy Merged. Or ctrl shift C for those of us who like to used keyboard shortcuts. Paste as a new animation in Animation Shop. Go back to psp. Hide the name 1 layer, and unhide name 2. Again copy merged, and paste AFTER current frame in AS. Keyboard shortcut for that is ctrl shift L. Go back, hide name 2, unhide name 3. Copy merged and paste after current frame. You should now have 3 frames of your tag. Play animation to see how it looks. If you're satified then save and you're done. Congrats!
