PTU - Broken

This tutorial was written on 11/05/2013 and assumes you have working knowledge of PSP. Any simularities to other tuts is purely coincidental and not done on purpose.

For this tutorial you will need:

PSP - I use X3 but most versions will do
Eye Candy 4000 Gradient Glow
Tube of choice, I used the art of Delphine Demers
You can purchase this tube at CDO. Do not use without purchasing a license first.
IB-Jessica Dougherty-52-2 scrap kit by LadyHawwk Designs. Available for purchase at CDO.
Mask 72 from Designs by Vaybs
Font of choice, I used Beatrice
Open a new image 700 x 700. Copy frame 1 and paste as a new layer. Open paper of choice, I used paper 4. Duplicate and close original. Resize 50%. Paste as a new layer and move below the frame layer. Use your mover tool to move the paper down so it fills the entire inner part of the frame.

With the paper layer still active, copy your tube and paste as a new layer. Move this layer up so she just barely covers the bottom of the frame:

Duplicate the tube layer and move this layer above the frame and hide for now. Activate the frame layer and click inside with your magic wand. Expand by 5 and invert. Activate the original tube layer, press delete. Activate your paper layer and press delete again. Deselect. It should now look like this:

Give your frame a drop shadow of 0, 0, 100, 8. Activate and unhide the top tube and give it a drop shadow of -3, 3, 70, 10. Repeat the drop shadow at 1, -1, 50, 5.

Now zoom in about 500%. Lower the opacity of your tube to about 50%. Click on your erasor tool and you're going to erase any part of her arm and chest that covers the bottom of the frame. Any parts of her hair that sit independantly on top of the frame, leave that alone. When you're done return opacity to 100% and hide and unhide the tube to catch any stray pixels you might of missed. When you're done she should look like this:

Copy element 24. Paste as a new layer and move below the paper layer. Resize 90%, all layers unchecked. Give it the same drop shadow you did the frame.
Activate the bottom layer in your palette. Copy paper of choice, I chose paper 3. Paste as a new layer and colorize to match your tube. These are the settings I used:

Add new mask from image. Merge group. Use your raster deform tool again and click on the nodes on each side and drag them in a bit so the mask only goes a little bit farther then the swirl element. Duplicate this layer and change the blend mode on the duplicate to screen.

With one of your mask layers still active, click on your cropped tool and click on Layer Opaque on the tools options bar. Make sure no elements, tubes or drop shadows will be cropped off, drag nodes out if needed. When done, double click or click on the green check mark to crop.

If you're going to resize your tag, do it now. I resized mine 80%.

Activate the top layer in your palette. Add your copyright, license info and tagger's mark.

Add your name using chosen font, colors from your tube. Give it an inner bevel of choice. I used:

Then give it a gradient glow, the greyish blue I got from my tube's hair, the color code is #697488.

Then give your name a drop shadow of -2, 2, 50, 10.

Merge visible and save as a png or merge all and save as a jpg. Congrat, you're done!

5 new tags plus new avatar to share

This tag is from a tut by Chas at chasscrapnbitz. You can find it here. I've had this link for probably a month but now have been holding back on doing it until I found a good tube to match. I have the exact tube she used in the tutorial and it's gorgeous but I try not to use the same tube if I can help it.

This tag is from a tut by Stef. You can find it here.

This next tag is from a tut on Freebie Friends, you can find it here.

Recent tag I made

Here's a recent tag that I made.

I did this from a tutorial that you can find here.

Swirly Glitter

This tut was written in PSP X3 but can be done in other versions with minor modifications.
I used the wonderful art of Delphine Demers. You must have a license to use her work.

Supplies:

Template 24 from Missy over at Divine Intentionz
4 tubes of choice - 1 main tube and 3 secondary
Xenofex 2
Font of choice, I used Wedding Script
Animation Shop

Open template and tubes in psp. Shift D on all to make duplicates and close originals.

Activate the top layer on your template and delete. Activate the rectangle layer, using your magic wand, click on the rectangle, flood fill with a medium color from your main tube. Deselect.

Activate square 1 in the layer palette. Click on the top square with your magic wand and flood fill with a darker color from your tube. Make sure you're only selecting the border of the small square. Deselect. Repeat with the other 2 squares till it looks like this.

Activate your doodle2 layer, merge down so the doodle is all one layer. Select all, Float, Defloat. Flood fill all parts of the doodle with a light color from your tube. Deselect. Your template should now look like this.

Activate square 1 in your layer palette and click inside the top square with your magic wand. Selections, Modify, Expand by 3. Copy one of your 3 secondary tubes and paste as a new layer. Move it to where the face is inside the square, resize all layers unchecked if needed. Invert selection and press delete on your keyboard. Deselect and move this layer below the square 1 layer. Give the tube a slight drop shadow.

Activate square 2 and repeat the same process you did in the last step. Repeat again with the 3rd square so when you're done it looks like this.

Your layer palette should look like this from the top down.

Activate the doodle layer and duplicate it twice for a total of 3 layers, rename them as such.

Activate the doodle 1 layer. Apply a slight drop shadow. Be sure you check the box to put the shadow on a new layer or it'll mess up the animation.

With your doodle 1 layer active, Select all, Float, Defloat and go to your Xenofex 2 plugin and click on Constellation. Use the settings below. Do not deselect.

Activate doodle 2 layer. Apply the Constellation filter again but click the random seed button once before you apply.

Repeat with the 3rd doodle layer, remembering to click the random seed button before you apply the filter. Deselect.

Activate the top layer in your palette. Copy your main tube and paste as a new layer, move it into position where you like it. Give it a darker drop shadow, 1, 1, 60, 5, make sure you uncheck the box to put the shadow on a new layer.

Add your copyright and watermark. Click on your text tool. I used Wedding Script, size 120. Foreground and background colors from your main tube. After you have it how you like it, apply and go to Image, Free Rotate, and rotate it 90 degrees to the left. All layers unchecked. Move it into position along the side of your tag.

Go to Effects, Inner Bevel and use these settings.

Give it the same drop shadow as you did your main tube.

Time to animate. Hide the doodle 2 and 3 layers in your layer palette, ctrl shift C to copy merged. Go to AS and ctrl V to paste as a new layer. Go back to psp, hide the doodle 1 layer and unhide doodle 2. Copy merged and press ctrl shift L to paste after current frame. Go back to psp, hide doodle 2 and unhide doodle 3. Copy merged and paste after the 2nd frame.

Shift S to resize 80%. F12 to save your tag and congrats, you're done!
